A truly marvelous way to steep yourself in the flavors of Tuscany and really be able to create authentic Tuscan dishes in your own kitchen. A must-own for anyone who loves Tuscany or Tuscan cuisine. ![]() by Elizabeth Romer One of the most fantastic books about Tuscan cuisine and culture, Elizabeth Romer's excellent story of a year in Tuscany progresses with wonderful detail about each and every season. She shares stories, flavors, information, personalities, and great recipes that really reflect the flavor of Tuscany the whole year round. This is truly a classic in the selection of books about Tuscany and avoids many of the trendy food literature "sameness" of some of the newer books about Tuscany. The timeless nature of the tales and the recipes make it an excellent addition to any collection about Tuscany, or the perfect book to start a collection with. ![]() by Liana Giovannini Figone This marvelous cookbook is a true glimpse into the food and culture of Tuscany. It reads just like a notebook compiled by a cherished family member and is filled with wonderful recipes, tips, stories, photos, family vignettes, herbal lore, old fashioned sayings, and tons of love. The recipes are simple, but fantastic - Oysters with Italian Ham and Chives, Fried Bread with Cheese Sauce, Peanut Brittle Cake, Stuffed Seafood Cannelloni, "Knock on Wood" Potato Dumplings, Snapper with Italian Bacon, Capers, and Lemon, Prawns with Marsala, Rustic Style Spaghetti Sauce, and many more wonderful dishes. |
